Have you ever wondered who the individuals are behind the badges? Ever thought about what the lives of our local police officers entail? Or maybe, you might be curious about their perception of the communities that they serve? Well, the Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) warmly invites you to “Coffee with Cops at A’Roma’s”. This unique event is designed to provide a platform for such intriguing dialogues.

Slated for A’Roma Roasters in Historic Railroad Square, these gatherings offer a laid-back morning filled with coffee and candid conversations. With no formal agenda or speeches, it’s an ideal opportunity for community members to voice their concerns, ask probing questions, or just engage in friendly chit-chat with the local police officers.

Are you anxious about a local problem? Intrigued about why officers react the way they do in certain situations? This event offers the perfect setting to discuss such matters directly with them. The Santa Rosa Police Department looks forward to these exchanges. They believe it fosters a more robust relationship with the community they serve.

Steve Hummel, the President of the West End Neighborhood Association, recently participated in one of these gatherings, just this morning. He connected with Chief John Cregan and a few other officers. Hummel recollects, “It was a joy to be a part of the exciting gathering that took place this morning at Aromas, where the West End Neighborhood came together to share coffee and ideas with the Santa Rosa Police Officers. This event truly exemplified the power of community engagement and positive interaction.”

Hummel, as the President, aspires to boost the involvement of the 600-plus members within their Association’s borders. With this purpose in mind, his mission is to explore ways to enhance our neighborhood’s safety, living conditions, and overall enjoyment for every family.

Getting to know the Cops that protect us

“Coffee with Cops”, an initiative in Santa Rosa for a few years now, is breaking down barriers. It’s about reuniting police officers and the citizens they serve. Moreover, it’s about nurturing relationships, one cup of Joe at a time. By creating a casual setting for interaction, it encourages mutual understanding on a personal level.

Chief John Cregan, a police veteran with a service record spanning 23 years, shares the same enthusiasm. As he states, “As the Chief of Police for the City of Santa Rosa, I look forward to continuing to serve our community. In collaboration with all the employees here at SRPD, we will continue to set the standard of excellence in policing to prevent crime and improve the quality of life in our great city.”

So, come join your neighbors and the Santa Rosa police officers for a morning coffee at “Coffee with Cops”. Not only will you gain a better understanding of the concerns and issues within your neighborhood, but you’ll also play an active role in knitting a closely-bound community. We look forward to your presence next time!
